Range
Sandy and desert substrates are designed to recreate arid environments suitable for reptiles from dry regions such as bearded dragons, uromastyx, terrestrial geckos, desert monitors, and more.
They include natural sands, clay-based blends, and technical substrates that provide good drainage, structural stability (for burrows and warm spots), and excellent digestive safety (non-calcium sand recommended).
Some substrates can be compacted when moistened to allow burrowing while maintaining natural ventilation.
