An unforgettable surprise

In a rancher's life, some moments remain etched forever.
The October 12, 2015, while opening an incubation box like so many others, I found myself facing a scene that no breeder really expects: three viable snakes, perfectly formed, emerging from the same egg.

Derived from a Bamboo x Vanilla cross, this bridge counted 7 eggs. Among them, only one contained this An extremely rare genetic nugget : of Python regius triplets, all in perfect health.

Twins are sometimes seen in reptiles, but living triplets, well formed and viable, remain an exceptional biological anomaly.

One egg... three lives

Each of the three snakes weighed between 14 and 16 grams at birth. None were malformed.
They started to feed about a week later, accepting all Rosé de Souris without difficulty, a good indicator of vitality for such small specimens.

This hatching occurred under standard conditions, with incubation at 31.8 °C, with no warning signs of such a surprise.

The image that says a lot

The three triplets, just after their first molt, alongside a juvenile from the same litter. A clearly visible difference in size, despite the same age.

And after?

The three young people continued their development without any problems. Once they got off to a good start, they were sold to enthusiasts, everyone finding a home adapted to their needs.

Even years later, this birth remains a A strong point of reference in my career, an anecdote that I am proud to share, because it represents The unexpected magic of animal husbandry, even for the most well known species like Python regius.

An unwavering passion

This type of event is a reminder why we invest so much time, energy and rigor in our work.
Breeding is not just a profession or a passion, it is sometimes a series of small miracles.

“When you open an egg and discover three perfectly viable snakes, you understand why you do this job with so much passion. It is this type of moment that pushes us to always go further.”
